reinforce your curriculum? Would you like some practical help and advise
in locating great online resources, lesson plans, and curriculum
materials?
This workshop
highlights the practical and pedagogical issues related to integrating
networked technologies such as the World Wide Web into the classroom
environment. After a brief introduction to online environments, the
session will focus on hands on practice in conducting effective online
searches. Next there will be an examination of some classroom activities
utilizing networked resources including e-mail based projects, online

a model of ways to bring the vast resources of the Internet into your
classroom and curriculum either in the short or long term? This seminar
will cover the reason for the WebQuest model. You will study short-term
and long-term WebQuests and the reasons and value of each type. There
are many WebQuests currently available and you will learn how to locate
those that may be relevant to you and your students. You will also learn
what tools are available to develop your own, formats most commonly used
and where to find templates.
Participants will
learn how to develop WebQuests utilizing basic word processing
applications. It is not necessary to have WWW authoring privileges to
make use of this workshop, but for those participants who can post
materials to the WWW, this topic will be covered as well.
Every teacher
knows there is nothing more rewarding than seeing his or her
students actively engaged and enthralled by a learning activity. In
this workshop, teachers will learn how to use multimedia
presentation software to effectively support and promote student
learning. Participants will review examples of multimedia projects,
explore various presentation tools, and develop basic proficiency in
these use of these tools. Methods for teaching students how to use
these tools will be presented along with various models for project
development. Techniques for assessing student technology-based work
will be covered. This is a hands-on workshop using PowerPoint.
Participants
will first look at several WWW school pages to understand the basics
of web design and quality. Participants will then work to develop
their own pages. Participants will follow step-by-step handouts and
demonstrations to incorporate and format text created on a word
processor. Participants will learn how to insert graphics and
photos; design colorful borders and backgrounds; and capture
features from other web pages. Creation of hypertext links to other
web pages and email will be utilized. Uploading to the web server
will be explained and demonstrated. Copyright and other legal
concerns will be explored.
This workshop
can be customized for the use of several popular web design
applications such as FrontPage or Dreamweaver. The use of some sort
of web design software is assumed. This is not a workshop on
creating HTML code.
Would you like to help
your students use Microsoft Word to effectively create comprehensive,
visually attractive, documents or projects? Would you like to learn more

In this hands-on workshop, you will learn Word's advanced features and see
examples of projects utilizing these features. As a workshop product
demonstrating your knowledge, you will design and produce a student
